Underwater World

Langkawi Underwater World locate beside the popular Cenang Beachthis aquarium features more than 5000 type of aquatic life, with 15 meter conveyor tunnel, visitor just stand as witness these magnificent underwater creatures.

 

Kota Mahsuri

The legend of Mahsuri is one of Langkawi’s most famous legends. This mausoleum in the centre of the island marks the spot where Mahsuri, the fair maiden, who was unjustly accused of adultery, was buried. Mahsuri’s story is Langkawi’s most famous legend. In the museum you can see a very impressive recorded interpretation of the legend. The grounds of the complex have a number of traditional Malay houses, local entertainment, traditional cooking demonstration & live theatre of the legend of Matsuri .

 

Eagle Square

Eagle Square is Langkawi most prominent landmark that situated near Kuah Jetty. The main attraction of the square is the magnificent statue of the reddish brown eagle majestically posed for flight.

Tea Plantation & Factory

 

It is not a complete journey to Cameron Highland if you do not visit to tea plantations. This is a major attraction that must be on your "must see" list. You can visit the factory to understand the process of tea and enjoy a cup of tea, along with beautiful scenery.

 

Rose Garden

 

The Rose Centre spread over 10 levels of terrace, is the coolest village Cameron Highlands. The air here is fresh, completely no contamination. Deep inhalation of a fresh air will make you stress free. There is more than 100 over varieties of Rose in the centre and look colorful when all blooming.

 

Butterfly Farm

 

There are two butterfly farms in the highlands, Butterfly Farm and Butterfly Garden. Both have numerous butterflies and other insects including the well -known Raja Brooke butterfly. Walk into the close door garden ,there is a rare butterfly paradise, you can watch different types of butterflies, flying happily in a lush garden. Walk in here, full of romance and freedom.

 

Bee Farm

 

You can buy fresh and pure honey over here. Besides that, you can also learn more knowledge about how to take care bees and honey from the beekeepers. This is also a good place for your children to understand the nature of bees and honey.

 

Market Square

 

The famous and crowded market at Cameron Highlands. The farmers will sell their vegetable and fruit over here. You can easily get fresh cabbage, corn, strawberries, rose and many more at very reasonable price.

 

Buddhist Temple

 

Sam Poh Temple Brinchang - Massive, created with fully decorated of Buddha temple built proudly on uphill, the panoramic view based on Brinchang city. Can reach here by taking first left junction while leaving Brinchang to the Tanah Rata, and carefully drive along 1 km narrow path leaving Brinchang to Tanah Rata.

 

Strawberry Farm

 

Strawberry farms can be easily found everywhere in the Cameron Highlands. You can get homemade strawberry jam and local grown strawberry with very cheap price. Some strawberry farms will allowed you to pick you own strawberries and charge it according to the weight.

Kek Lok Si Temple

Kek Lok Si means “ Temple of Supreme Bliss “. Construction began in 1980 with the completion of its seven storey handcrafted “ Pagoda on Ten Thousand Buddhas “ in 1930.The Pagoda is considered one of Penang’s Most beautiful architectural wonders with its Chinese octagonal base, Thai middle tier Burmese crown.A 30.2m Kuan Yin bronze status was complete in 2002.

 

Clock Tower

Queen Victoria Memorial clock tower, the 60 foot clock tower, commissioned by the wealthy Cheah Chen Eok, was build in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. Each foot represents a year in the Queen’s region

 

Fort Cornwallis

Fort Cornwallis was built by Francis Light immediately after his landing on the island , with the present star- shaped structure completed in early 19th century. It served as the administrative centre of the island, housing the Supreme Court of Penang and later the Sikh Police force before its present role as a tourist attraction

 

City Hall

Built in 1930, this is the headquarters of the Penang Island Municipal Council.A world WAR I monument for fallen soldiers in also located here.

 

Clan Jetties

Located along the Weld Quay are Penang’s historical Clan Jetties , Home to families of traders,fishermen and dock workers.Built during the 19 century , these traditional houses are built over the sea on stilts and are connected by wooden walkways.

Little India

This is little quarter of South Indian culture is where early Indian immigrants settled down to make Penang their home.It is the island’s epicenter of Indian music,savoury cuisine,exotic spices and authentic goods.

 

Khoo Kong Si

Khoon Kong Si represent the opulence and prosperity of the Khoo clan.Build y 1894 and completed 1906.The temple feature fine Chinese architecture and craftsmanship.Attract few international movie’s director snap movie at here such like “ Anna and the King “

 

Cheah Kong Si

This clan temple features classic Chinese Architecture with the surprising additional of British lion heads on the temple.The lion symbolize the Strait Chinese loyalty to the British colonial powers.The Cheah Clan is one of the oldest Hokkien clans in Penang.The temple was completed in the 1870s.

 

Acheh Mosque

The mosque was founded by Tengku Syed Hussain bin Abdul Rahman Aideed in 1808 for early Hadhrami Arab settlers. The mosque was centre of Haj travel during the 19th century,serving Muslim from Northam Sumatera , Southern Thailand and the Northern Penisula Malaya. To this day, the descendants of those families live in the 19th century bungalows that surround the mosque.
